My Toyota Corolla Battery Goes Dead – Battery and Alternator are New
Reader Question I have a 1992 Toyota corolla. It has been dieing quite a bit lately. I have replaced the alternator and the battery. The belt is tight and in good shape. The fuses all appear good. I have taken to a dealer and they can’t seem to find the problem. It seems to be intermittent. The clock light starts to fade AND THEN THE Car goes dead. The battery at that point has around 9 or less volts reading on the voltage meter.
After an hour or so the car sometimes will start and then the alternator seems to be charging the battery at around 13.45 +, but if I catch it when the clock lights starts to fade but the engine has not died yet, then the alternator seems to be only charging at around 9 to 10 volts. Any advice I would really appreciate it.
Thank you very much. Don H
im haVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MINE STUPID CARS IT COULD BE THE WIRING??
I would have a qualified mechanic, check the battery load, check alternator output, and check for a “drain” in the electrical system
Do u ever figure out what the problem was i am having same issue with my 92 corolla.
