Will a 1998 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter Engine Fit in a 1994 S10 Pick up?

Reader Question Working on a 1994 S-10 2wd 4cyl 2.2L Blown engine Have an available 1998 Wrecked available S-10 2.2L Will the engine interchange with same block and head. It looks close by the eye but I can not find it in a manual anywhere. Where can I find this kind of INFO?

I would call your local salvage yard and ask them. They have what is called a Hollander book, that will tell them of interchange issues like that. I would not take the word of just one place, call 3 of them and see what they say. I would them call the dealership parts department and ask them as well. I have a feeling the emissions system changed, but that might not matter. I am not sure.
