I have a 2003 Chevy. Crew cab with 350 V8 engine. The speedometer is erratic (it is not bouncing around). Sometimes it reads slower then I’m going and sometimes it reads faster. What is wrong? Thank You for any help you can give.
When my daughter tries to put fuel in the tank of her 1999 Honda Accord, the back pressure from the tank causes the fuel nozzle to shut off. It happens at different gas stations. The car’s Check Engine Light has been on and the mechanic turns it off but says that there’s a problem with the fuel vapor recovery system on this model. Got any suggestions?
Hello I have a 1997 Mustang 3.8L Manual Transmission, The problem I’m having with it is that when I start driving everything is fine the needle stays in the center of the oil pressure gauge, but after about 15 mins of driving, when I’m stopping and down shifting the gears the needle on the oil pressure guage starts to fluctuate and when I’m stopped the oil pressure guage takes a dive to show no oil pressure at all, When I start to drive again the pressure returns to normal and stays normal when up shifting the gears. I’ve checked the oil level, Recently had the oil changed.
OK heres my brain buster. i have a 93 buick regal. me and my wife have had it since 93. kept up with the tune up oil changes etc. etc.. well when i drive me car at roughly 3200 rpm the car losses power. almost like i took my foot of the gas peddle. and the peddle gets a little stiff about half way pressed down. i have had my gas lines checked. most of my vacuum lines are new, and the other were checked out and OK. my coil pack is putting out a good spark. i changed my o2 sensor and i changed my TPS. and i gave it a tune up a few months ago. also the exhaust is new from the CAT back. and in the summer i had my radiator flush and trans flush. now heres the brain buster. i have had a scanner on it and it is showing no codes at all. if you can at least point me in the right direction. I would be really great full. because the car has really been maintained from day one and i would hate to sell it.
While driving on the freeway, the illumination for the odometer and gear shift position on my 1998 Safari began dimming then brightening again. Soon the transmission began downshifting to 3rd then back to drive. After a mile or so everything went back to normal and I drove the last 85 miles home. In the morning the car started fine, but the area of the odometer was dim and then went blank. While driving the transmission never never seemed to shift to drive and might have simply stayed in one gear (3rd I think)the whole time. After stopping the car and turning it off I could get the lighted odometer area to again be luminated as I turned the key on, but as soon as I started the car it went blank again.
Last week my timing belt broke on my 2000 Nissan Frontier V6 2-Wheel drive truck. It was towed to my mechanic whom did not want to do the work. So, I towed it to a nearby shop that I called for a quote. The engine is an interference engine so I was aware that the valves might be bent resulting in major engine repair. Except when idling, the engine runs fine, only when idling is there a serious vibration and the service engine soon light (yellow) is on. If a valve was bent, wouldn’t the engine run much rougher or make more noise? Could the new mechanic have not adjusted the timing correctly after installing the new timing belt?
Morning and hello, I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima and I’m having trouble starting it up. It idles very hard and may cut off. The transmission also is slow to jump into gear. I’ve had a full tune-up on it. I’ve recently replaced the radiator, all belts and plugs and wires. Change all fluids and added fuel additives to the tank and changed the timing belt. But it’s still doing the same thing. Help
Am trying to replace pickup assy in distributor. Manual only tells how to remove & replace distributor. Took screws out of pickup assy & removed copper colored plate (2-5/16″ bolts). Assy won’t budge. Do I have to remove distributor to get it out? Does round base that the copper colored plate was bolted to come out? If so, how? If not, am I better off to just spend the extra $50 to replace the whole distributor?
