I was reading on your site about a fellow who was experiencing a problem with his 1999 Jeep Cherokee. I am experiencing the same problem (all the way down to the speed at which he experiences the noise – 65-70 mph). I wanted to follow up to see if he ever got back in touch with you to let you know how/if he resolved the problem.
I have an old Honda Accord, 1999 standard EX model. It’s had a problem with oil for a number of years and no one seems to be able to find the cause.It’s not burning it, no blue smoke under load or when revving the engine, and no white tail pipe. There are no drip spots under the car when parked. It seems to be most noticeable with highway driving however this could be due to the amount of time the engine is actually running as opposed the strain on the engine. The amount of oil is significant, up to 4 liters per 1000 km.

I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee that while I am driving it, the speedometer and tachometer gauges drop to the bottom, and come back again after a while. This keeps going on and off. I am getting a display on the odometer………. NO BUS. but nothing seems to affect the performance because it still runs well.

Quick question, which side of your car is your gas tank on? If you are anything like me, you probably can’t remember right away. My solution is to uncomfortably stick my head out the window, strain my neck and look. If you don’t do this in your own car you definitely have done it in a borrowed or rental car.
I have a 1994 mustang that is putting out white smoke and smells like gas. The he ground is like oil and gas mixed together. What gasket would I have to replace to fix the problem or is it something else.
I had some work done to my engine recently. I had some gaskets replaced. Not the head gaskets though. About a week or so later, I noticed my engine leaking more. My mechanic told me it was probably old oil burning of the engine. Since then the engine leak has gotten worse and now I am noticing white smoke coming from the exhaust. I have to put about 3 quarts of oil a day into the car and it still runs rough.
