A few months ago i bought this car and about a month later the battery light started coming on. Finally on a trip the light started coming on it was like everything kept dimming down , so we replaced the alternator/regulator is built in and it didnt help the problem. (but i drive it like that). The light still comes on and every now and then it does that dimming thing.
I was driving my 1994 Volvo stationwagon at about 35
mph and it just stopped. The check engine light came
on first and then all other lights. after about 5
attempts to restart and then a push, it was able to
start back up. I took it to my mechanic and he
changed the fuel pump relay. I drove it home and
after a couple days it happened again. I took it back
and then he replaced the fuel pump and i got charged
$860.00 for the whole job.
I have been having recent problems with Air Conditioning in my 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Last week, the air conditioning stopped working. Air still flows out of the vents, but the air is warm (around the same temperature as the ‘vent’ setting).
Usually when I switch from ventilation mode to air conditioning, I am able to hear the compressor click and turn on. The engine also revs up. I no longer observe this.
I have read your posting regarding alternator problems, but can you help identify the problem with my 1989 IROC / 5.7 Camaro? I bought the car new and within a couple of years my volt gage would drop as low as 8 and it never was over 12. I have replaced alternators, checked cable connections etc. I have also replaced batteries that failed early. Sometimes when I initially start the car in the morning the gage will read near 12, but after a few miles it will begin to discharge. Battery is new this spring. Any thoughts?
i have a 1987 chevy r20 pickup with a TBI 350 small block. I have added an edelbrock intake, lunati bracket master II camshaft with 284 deg of advertised duration and .458″ lift and flowtech headers and dual exhaust w/o cats. ( i live in alabama where there are no emissions laws). what do you suggest as my next modification?
I have a 1998 oldsmobile Silhouette mini van.when the van did not start,we had it towed to our mechanic & he replaced the fuel pump with a GM pump.With in one week we had same problem,van would not start.He sais computer showed bad fuel senser,he replaced.A few days later same problem,replaced fuel pump again (no charge)A few days later same problem,said that the wiring harness was loose. next day same problem.
My wife’s 2001 GMC Yukon XL is having air conditioning problems. It makes a noise under the hood when accelerating, yet when she turns the AC off the noise stops. After reaching cruising speed, the noise stops. Now, however it is not blowing cool air. She took it to the dealer service center and they told her she needs $1,700 of repair work done.
1997 VW Golf my water pump needs replacing as per the VW dealership. I replaced the pump and the timing belt 3 years ago, should I need a new one already?

I have the same 98 Chev K1500 with ABS which sometimes, only at slow speeds, activates the ABS, actually pushing back on the brake pedal. Its always unnerving and I usually respond by pressing hard on the brake.
