My 1998 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L has recently been fitted with rear rotors and pads. When first drove the vehicle for a few miles the rear brakes got very hot, the rotor went blue and I had to pour water over to cool it down. There was also blue smoke. Is there something else I should have done?

My 1998 Nissan Pathfinder has approximately 195,000 miles. I just had my timing and drive belts (original) replaced as a preventive measure. Now, my “check engine soon” light has appeared on my dash.
